Editing People

Open any person from the people list to view and update their details. The person record includes several tabs.

Use the search or filters on the people list to find the person you want to edit.

General Tab

Update any of the person's core fields — name, location, group, job title, contact information, and photo. See Adding People for a description of each field.

Assets Checked Out

This tab shows all assets currently checked out to this person. It provides a quick way to see what someone is responsible for without leaving their record.

From this tab you can:

  • Click an asset to open its detail record.
  • View the check-out date and return due date for each assignment.

Account Tab

If this person has a user account in the system, the Account tab shows their login and role information. This tab connects the personnel record to the application user account.

People vs. Users

Not every person in the People list needs a user account. A person record tracks someone who is assigned assets. A user account is needed only for people who log in to the application.

Transfer Administrator

If a person is being removed from the system or changing roles, you may need to transfer their administrative responsibilities. The Transfer Administrator option reassigns any data ownership to another administrator.

Notes, Files, and History

Like asset records, people records include:

  • Notes — Free-form rich text notes.
  • Files — Attached documents (e.g., signed equipment agreements).
  • History — A read-only log of all changes to this record.
