First Steps

This guide walks you through logging in and finding your way around Asset Manager Web Edition.

Logging In

  1. Navigate to your organization's Asset Manager URL.
  2. Enter your email address and password.
  3. Optionally check "Remember Me" to stay signed in.
  4. Click "Sign In".

If your organization has configured single sign-on (SSO), click the SSO button to authenticate through your identity provider instead. You'll be redirected to your organization's login page.

Forgot your password?

Click the "Forgot Password" link on the login page. You'll receive an email with a link to create a new one.

Password Requirements

Your password must meet all of the following:

  • At least 6 characters long
  • Contains at least one uppercase letter (A–Z)
  • Contains at least one lowercase letter (a–z)
  • Contains at least one number (0–9)

Special characters are allowed but not required.

Account Security
  • After 10 failed login attempts, your account locks for 5 minutes.
  • Your administrator may enable two-factor authentication via email for additional security.
  • If you're unable to log in, contact your system administrator.

After signing in, you land on the Dashboard. It gives you an at-a-glance view of your asset portfolio:

  • Asset summary — total assets, checked-out vs. available, and items due for maintenance.
  • Recent activity — a feed of the latest check-ins, check-outs, and updates across your organization.
  • Quick actions — shortcuts to common tasks like adding an asset or running a report.

Scanning Your First Asset

The barcode scanner is recommended for mobile devices. On your phone or tablet, tap "Scan Asset Barcode" on the dashboard. Point your camera at any asset barcode label to:

  • View the asset's details
  • Check the asset in or out
  • Record a note or status update

No app install is required — the scanner runs directly in your browser.

Exploring the Menu

Use the navigation menu to access the main areas of the application:

SectionWhat you'll find there
AssetsBrowse, search, and manage your full asset inventory
PeopleView and manage people assigned to assets
VendorsTrack vendors, contracts, and service agreements
ReportsRun, view, and export reports
AdminConfigure system settings, users, and permissions (administrators only)
